A practicing plastic surgeon, Walden grew up in the Austin region. She attended the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. She also went on to Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital where she studied aesthetic surgery fellowship. Walden has been working as a plastic surgeon for over eight years and has managed to accumulate a lot of experience and skills. Dr. Walden created a successful practice at the New York City before she decided to go back to her hometown in 2011. An established author, Walden is the co-author of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Walden exclusively focuses on cosmetic surgery which includes eyelid lifts, breast augmentation, rhinoplasties (also referred to as nose jobs) and face-lifts. Dr. Jennifer Walden also practices liposuction and other minimally invasive procedures like injecting soft-tissue fillers and Botox. According to Walden, not many women practice cosmetic plastic which makes her a rarity. According to statistics, only 851 out of 8,100 certified plastic surgeons are female. Walden says that one of the reasons why there is male domination in the field of plastic surgery is the many years of training at post-medical school. For many women, this will mostly mean delaying some things such as childbearing.
Walden states that the culture of surgery has also been a little rough and has not been welcoming to women. Plastic surgeon also has its merits according to Walden. Of all cosmetic procedures, 91% are done on women such as tummy tucks, augmentations, and many others. Many women are therefore comfortable discussing issues about their body parts with a fellow woman. Walden serves as a role model to many women who wish to join the field of plastic surgery or surgery in general. She attributes her success as a plastic surgeon to hard work, commitment, and discipline. She urges more women to venture into the male-dominated industry.

Numerous medical and scientific studies are also conducted to improve the health sector. Of interest is the research on drugs. Scientists strive relentlessly to formulate drugs that offer treatment options for ailments. Among these scientists is Dr. Shiva GopalVasishta.Recent trials on high-dose immunosuppressive therapy have been proven to cause multiple sclerosis. This is an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks the central nervous system. Five years after administration of this trial treatment, 69 percent of participants survived with no side effects even without taking any additional medication. This has, in turn, shown multiple sclerosis drugs to be less effective.
The HALT-MS trial was sponsored by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The study by these researchers has borne fruits and their three-year result findings have been published. The findings prove that HDIT treatment is fully effective. Just a one-time treatment has been proven to works way better compared to other long-term treatments for people with multiple sclerosis. The success has, therefore, prompted the development of an even larger trial to compare the treatment to the standard of care of this ailment.
